AFM not filling SG’s post: Madawo

THE Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) in Zimbabwe president Reverend Amon Madawo has revealed that his church is, at the moment, neither planning nor discussing filling the secretary general’s (SG) post after the incumbent succumbed to COVID-19 yesterday.

Instead, Madawo said the late SG Reverend Brian Tembo will be buried tomorrow at Glen Forest cemetery at 2pm.

“Only selected people will attend the funeral tomorrow and his (Rev. Tembo) burial will be at Glen Forest cemetery in the afternoon.

“About the way forward regarding filling the post I have no comment to that now. We are mourning and we cannot talk about replacement at the moment, maybe next week,” said Reverend Madawo.

An insider said Reverend Tembo might have contracted COVID-19 when he toured parts of Zvimba last week telling congregants from the splinter Chiangwa faction to vacate church premises following a recent court ruling
