A 64-YEAR-OLD Bindura grandfather recently went on a raping spree and sexually attacked four children who are all his relatives.
The man, who identity cannot be disclosed to protect the minors, has been arrested on allegations that he raped the four minors who are all related to his wife.
The rape incidents took place on different occasions, and all the victims are under 15 years of age. The eldest is aged 14 and the youngest 10 years old.
Police national spokesperson Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest, saying the accused will appear in court soon.
“The ZRP confirms the arrest of a Bindura man (64) for rape cases involving four minors aged 14, 10, 11 and 10. The suspect raped the victims who are related to his wife on different occasions,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bulawayo police are investigating a case of fraud involving ATM Card cloning. The suspect defrauded a company of Z$436 000 after getting access to the card’s passwords.
“The ZRP urges the public and institutions to protect their ATM Cards and passwords. On 30/07/21, a report of theft was recorded at ZRP Bulawayo Central to the effect that a Byo Company had noted that ZWL$ 436 131 was missing from their company account.
Police say unvestigations so far have revealed that the transactions were done using the unnamed company’s ATM card from 6 June to 23 July this year. □
