PRESIDENTIAL Spokesperson George Charamba’s former wife Dr Rudo Grace-Gwata Charamba, has died.

Dr Grace-Gwata, an author and audit consultant, passed on in the early hours of this morning at Westend Hospital in Harare where she had been admitted for a kidney ailment.

Charamba confirmed the sad news himself, saying it was sad that the death of his former wife came just as he had buried his brother, Tinashe Charamba.

Charamba said the loss of Rudo Grace Gwata Charamba was a moment of sadness to him.

“Barely 12 hours after burying my brother Tinashe “Zvichemo” Charamba, the mother of my first three kids in my first marriage, Dr Rudo Grace-Gwata Charamba is late.

“She passed on in the early hours of this morning at Westend Hospital where she had been admitted for kidney-related complications,” said Charamba Sunday morning.

It was reported in 2007 that Charamba assaulted his then wife Dr Grace-Gwata at their Mandara home after a gun dispute.

He attacked his ailing wife who had just been released from hospital at the time, angering family members and officials in Robert Mugabe’s Government.

A few years later, Charamba got involved with Mrs Idaishe Olivia Charamba, who he married. She however dier, also at West End Hospital, in 2017. □
