FORMER Warriors star Benjani Mwaruwari says Zimbabwe didn’t disappoint despite going down to Senegal in their opening Group B match on Monday.
Senegal made a winning start against a resolute Zimbabwe following a 1-0 win over The Warriors.
Zimbabwe were looking destined for a draw until defender Kelvin Madzongwe handled the ball in the area in the final minute of the 5 minutes of time added-on .
The penalty was converted by Sadio Mane.
“I was enjoying the way they defended, they defended as a team and we were attacked as a team and if we can take that into the next game, I am sure we are going to kill the next team we are going to play against,” Benjani told SuperSport.
Senegal have started their AFCON 2021 campaign on a good note with 3 points and play their penultimate Group B game against Guinea on Friday, January 14.
