ZBC Radio Zimbabwe presenter Rutendo Makuti who is accusing the Goodness and Mercy Ministries founder Tapiwa Freddy of raping her says her life in danger.
Rutendo, during her court appearance on Thursday, said Tapiwa Freddy or someone close to him hired hitmen to harm her as she often finds herself being followed by suspicious people.
This comes after Rutendo said after raping her, Tapiwa Freddy ordered her not to reveal the sexual escapades as she could end up dead for talking.
She added that T Freddy told her of other women who had died for refusing his “anointing” or told people that they had been raped.
She told the court that T Freddy used an example of PHD Ministries leader and prophet Walter Magaya’s girlfriend who had died in Botswana.
“Our Gods are different, mine is a killer,” T Freddy is alleged to have told her. The court heard that T Freddy once allegedly raped the wife of his friend. His friend was named as Brighton Kawanza.
Rutendo said her life was in danger after pressing rape charges against the Goodness and Mercy Ministries founder.
Furthermore, Rutendo said the accused admitted to having raped her during a meeting with her uncle, Chief Chikwaka, last year.
Freddy’s trial entered day four this Friday with the complainant telling the court that the accused admitted to raping and physically abusing her when they attended a meeting with Chief Chikwaka on the 15th of August last year.
This comes after an audio in which a man believed to be Freddy was played in court on Tuesday with the individual pleading with a lady supposed to be the complainant not to report the matter to the police.
In the audio, a man believed to be Freddy is heard repeatedly begging the radio presenter not to report the matter to the police opting for an out of court settlement.
Freddy is also heard in the audio begging for forgiveness from Makuti and describing the issue at hand as very sensitive.
In his defence through his legal representative, Freddy initially argued that it was premature to use that audio as evidence before questioning the authenticity of the video.
Freddy is facing two counts of rape and one of assault and Makuti testified this Thursday that she was threatened with a spiritual curse if she refused.
The court heard that Freddy told Makuti that even if she reports the case, it was going to suffer a still birth since he was connected to officials from the Zimbabwe Republic Police and the National Prosecuting Authority.
