NELSON Chamisa has unveiled a new logo for his opposition party, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).
In a major shift from the past opposition party logos in Zimbabwe, the new CCC logo does not have Chamisa’s face emblazoned on it.
The use of the leader’s face was popularised during Morgan Tsvangirai’ MDC-T days in a bid to help voters easily identify the party on election ballots.
However, CCC says it will do away with Chamisa’s face except for election purposes, where the face will be on ballots and campaign material.
Explaining the changes, CCC interim spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said: “As stated by our Change Champion in Chief, President Chamisa, this is our new party logo which represents a fresh new start that puts the citizens at the centre.
“Our party symbol which we use for election and campaign purposes remains the same.”
Chamisa was forced to launch the CCC in late January this year after the MDC Alliance which he led into the 2018 general elections was taken over by rival politician Douglas Mwonzora on legal technicalities.
