IT has been a roller-coaster of a short life full of drama, crime and dealing for Ximex Mall hustler Tafadzwa Murengwa, popularly known in the streets as Boss Pangolin.
‘Boss Pango’ yesterday shot dead his girlfriend Samantha Dzapata and went on the run for hours, before police found him dying after consuming some poisonous substance. Police tracked Murengwa down and found him locked in his vehicle motionless.
From selling pangolins, dealing at Ximex to shooting his girlfriend and committing suicide, the late Boss Pango lived in the fast lane.
The 29-year-old born Tafadzwa Murengwa, once appeared in court after he attempted to sell a pangolin at Chisipite shopping center sometime in 2017.
The story was published by The Herald.
Tafadzwa appeared in court along with his other accomplices facing charges of contravention of the law on trade in endangered species. It is not clear what happened to the case which usually carries several years in jail as the pangolin is an endangered and protested species.
So, whatever happened to the case, this is how he got nicknamed Pangolin by his dealer mates at Ximex.
The dealer, who operated at the Ximex Mall, caused commotion in the capital after throwing United States dollar bills on the streets on Thursday with a video of the incident going viral.
Boss Pangolin had recently been granted bail at the Harare magistrate’s courts after being arrested for assaulting his now deceased former lover. But the fights did not end as Samantha was adamant that she wanted to move on.
Then, Boss Pangolin’s mood darkened on Friday when a violent confrontation with Samantha ended in her death by the bullet.
Boss Pangolin said he struggled to cope with rejection from Samantha, whom he showered with expensive gifts while spoiling a married man in Beitbridge.
