Description:
A vacancy currently exists for a Trade Worker at Garden Route National Park, Wilderness Section. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Trade Worker.

The remuneration package includes a basic salary, based on the salary scale of a position with a Paterson B4 job grade and allowances and benefits as specified in the HR Tariff Document and Conditions of Services of SANParks.
The successful candidate will have to provide their own accommodation as there is no official accommodation in the park.

Requirements:
Grade 12 is essential.
3 years related experience.
Basic Knowledge of applicable legislation.
Basic knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, etc.
Basic Financial discipline would be desirable.
Administration knowledge.
Computer Literacy
Communication and interpersonal skills.
Conflict management.

Responsibilities:
To inspect all electrical installations for functionality and safety within the tourism environment.
To inspect buildings and infrastructures for functionality and safety within the tourism environment.
To provide preventative maintenance to limit the number of breakdowns or inconveniences to guests.
To carry out the instruction given by the Technical Officer.
To ensure the smooth running of the administration within applicable sections.
To provide on the job training to General Workers within applicable sections.
