The Receptionist is responsible for the daily front office and administration functions of the hotel.
Be the first point of contact for guests, this individual needs to be friendly, welcoming, patient, helpful, well presented, efficient and knowledgeable.
Ensure satisfaction and comfort of each guest
Greet all guests and assist them with check-in and check-out
Process accurate payment for guest accounts
Maintain a positive attitude and friendly demeanour
Respond to all guest questions and requests
Answer and forward phone calls
Manage guest bookings and reservations for accommodation, dining and spa
Run daily night audit and complete daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting
Keep a tidy and orderly workspace
Assist with administrative and clerical tasks as needed, including ordering, receiving stocktake etc.
Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
2+ years experience working in a hotel receptionist or guest services role
Matric certificate and preferably hotel school qualification (or similar)
Knowledge and experience of Opera essential (preferably Opera Cloud), Micros, Microsoft Office products
Numeracy and administrative skills
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in English, other languages will be beneficial
Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude even under high pressure
Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills
Professional attitude and appearance
