Job Vacancy: Stock Controller – Bidvest Tank Terminals

Bidvest Tank Terminals is looking to fill a Stock Controller position, to be based within the Durban Business Unit and reporting to the Stock Manager. The incumbent will provide support to the stocks department from an administrative and transaction processing and reporting perspective to ensure the effective and efficient capturing, posting and control of all operational activities on sites which affect stock:

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 with mathematics

Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Finance

2 years’ experience in a similar role

Customs clearing experience is advantageous

Experience in liquid bulk storage/sites and shipping operations advantageous

SAP experience advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure all ship movements are confirmed accurately within 24 hours of final ship dip and explain any variations against this deadline (imports, exports).

Analysing of shipping schedule for co-mingling of bonded products between customers.

Assist with releasing of tanks with signed indemnity after provisional dips are done

Timeously deliver P201 to Clearing and Forwarding Department and surveyors

Review P201 checklist for discrepancies (dip temperature, density, height, final > provisional; sign off as proof of review

Ensure the accuracy of all shipping documents by strict adherence to BTT operating procedures

Ensure that site gauging and shipping quantities agree to the Bill of Lading.

Compile vessel summary report and investigate abnormal variances between ship/shore and provisional dips

Produce monthly shipping statistics

Capturing and posting of transfers

Issuing of transfer P201 to customers and planning department

Ensure all transfers are confirmed within 24 hours of parcel completion and explain any variations against this deadline (imports, exports)

Assist with the MIGO transfer of products from different contracts or when changing the name of a product in the tank

Capturing and posting of transfers

Ensuring all rail before dips and rail after dips are posted timeously and before another operational activity is to take place.

Ensuring proper managing slop drums on site

Reconciling empty and slop drums

Produce monthly drums statistics

Produce daily drum report for Sasol drums

Assist with Month end and liaising with site and the surveyors

Report variance with dipping and request re-dips

Ensure all tanks have a GMD.

Ensure all movements are adequately posted prior to month end

Produce customer stock reports and letters

Assist with the updating and maintaining of tank calibration data

Execute any other responsibility that is legal and lawful and is in the best interest of the company.

Be available for after-hours support/queries regarding stocks.

Assist with testing of SAP I.T changes where necessary or required i.e. ad hoc and scheduled updates.
