Job Description

RCL FOODS is on the lookout for an Intern to join our Quality department. The role will be based at our Speciality Spartan site and reports to the Senior Quality Assurance Technologist. RCL foods is looking for a highly organised and skilled individual who can deliver results, meet the customers’ expectations and work well under handle pressure.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of Grade 12
Candidates must be in the possession or process of completing a tertiary qualification in the quality/food safety/technical area
Preference will be given to those who have a national diploma in Food Safety or are studying towards such.
Expected to have good Inter-personal communication and leadership skills.
Be willing to work shifts and flexible hours of work.
Expected to be computer literate (basics)
Sound decision making skills.
Assertiveness and self confidence
A result driven self-starter.
Ability to work under pressure.

Duties & Responsibilities

Monitor on line quality by observation of online practices and completion of necessary check sheets
Lead the Team to deliver quality end product and must display some leadership qualities
Ensure customer satisfaction and records/ documentation in terms of product dispatched to customer complaints
Reports deviations and advice of the necessary corrective actions
Follows up on the implementation of corrective actions and escalates to higher authority if not accepted
Observes that employees on the line adhere to SHE, GMP and Food Safety practices and advises on necessary corrective action required when contravened
Monitors and ensures adherence to prescribed legal, statutory compliance, customer specific regulatory and internal requirements

Do inspections for SHE, GMP and Food Safety practices ensuring compliance and communication to area management
Reports on quality measurement in area of responsibility for management to scrutinize and analyze for record keeping and audit purposes

Training of staff as per schedule and when required on all food safety and quality and requirements, policies and procedures.Collection and management of retention samples.Collection and filing of documents.
