KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Millwright Artisan (Specialised Artisan, Mechanical)

The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It’s a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

You will have to maintain, service and repair mechanical components on machinery (with OEM specialization) to ensure their availability for mining operations. You will need to task a small group of technicians. The scope/portfolio of this role includes performing planned and preventative maintenance, and attending to breakdowns.

You will have the following:

Qualified Artisan, Millwright
Courses in Safety, Risk Management with,
6 years post qualification experience as a qualified Millwright Artisan

Preferably you will have:

Qualified Artisan, Millwright
Brand specific courses completed with,
Proficiency in French or Swahili highly desirable

You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:

Roadworks machines
Underground experience
Understanding of mining methodologies
Understanding of different roles (fitter, rigger, boilermaker) and how they work together
Technical Skills should include:

Asphalt Pavers
Wirtgen & Cat recycler
Pneumatic Asphalt, Wheel Rollers, Compactors
Water trucks, Low beds,
Road sweepers,
Bitumen Sprayers
Asphalt batching plants
Repair Storage Tanks for Bitumen & dust suppression products.

Undertake planned maintenance and unplanned repairs on machinery, ensuring maximum availability for mining operations
