Job Description

Main purpose of the role:
The Stylist works closely with the Production Designer, Creative Producers and the DOP to create a unified look and feel for shoots. The stylist also collaborates with the hair stylist and makeup artists to put together a particular look or theme for a project.

Requirements:
Relevant diploma
At least 2 years’ experience as a stylist for a mainstream production.
In-depth knowledge or relevant industry and trends (e.g. food, fashion, décor etc.)
Proficiency in relevant computer applications and packages
Key responsibilities:
Work closely with the Production Designer to ensure that each production has its own unique look and feel.
Read creative briefs or scripts and attend briefing sessions to identify factors indicating a particular visual style
Consider the production brief, which may be written or given orally.
Meet the Creative Producer and Director to discuss concepts and production requirements.
Research information and present style ideas/mood boards.
Present ideas to others involved in the production, such as the DOP and Creative Producer/s.

Attend progress meetings, rehearsals and filming to advise on visual presentation
Source head to toe looks for presenters, guests and participants for both studio and location POP shoots / productions.
Ensure that wardrobe is approved prior to shoots.
Ensure approved backup pieces are available in case needed.
Brief hair and makeup artists before each shoot so that they come prepared.
On shoot day, prep all clothing, dress presenters, participants and guests and ensure that they are camera ready for the duration of the shoot. Once the shoot is done, make sure that all items are accounted for and in good condition.
Take responsibility for any items that need to be laundered, tailored, etc.
Manage store receipts and returns as per company policy.
Plan and monitor the wardrobe budget – keeping in mind that it will always require out-of-the-box and innovative ideas with low budgets.
Take responsibility for the wardrobe cupboard.
