Job Function
The POD clerk in Transport is responsible to processing of proof of delivery documents (POD’s) to ad hire to customers’ requirements.
Key performance areas
Receipt & acknowledgement of POD’s in query
Checking of POD’s against post – advice list; Date stamping of POD’s
Processing of POD’s, capturing of endorsement on management system
Requesting order numbers from clients & linking orders to POD’s
Handling of all POD queries
Handling CHEP pallet queries & requests & updating CHEP System
Weekly request of outstanding POD’s and lists
Submit completed POD sets to invoicing department
General POD-related administrative tasks
Tracking of set collection targets (run debtors at 10 days)
Weekly reports for outstanding loads
Ensure that all discrepancies are reported and noted to relevant parties
Updating monthly Operations Reports
Nature of position
Obtain & process POD’s to prepare for invoicing
Qualifications required
Grade 12 certificate and Computer Literate
Strong sense of responsibility and self-motivated, willingness to learn.
Must have own transport
Skills and experience required
Computer literacy – MS Outlook, MS Excel and PowerPoint
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
Good time-management skills in order to adhere to strict dead-lines
Be willing & capable to work industry hours
Adaptability, Resilience, Interpersonal Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Oral
Communication, Customer Service, Decision Making, Leadership High level of accuracy and detail required
