Yara Animal Nutrition’s operation in South Africa includes a raw materials processing plant, warehouse and site head office in Umbogintwini near Durban. The Animal Nutrition South African business is a reputable global feed manufacturer of high quality Phosphate products and mineral feed supplements for ruminants and monogastric animals on modern, high producing farms. The majority of Animal Nutrition employees are based at the manufacturing plant in Umbogintwini, with a l commercial team serving customers throughout Southern Africa and selected overseas clients.

Responsibilities
Bagging, loading

  • To bag products which conforms to quality standards at the agreed output rates.
  • Tasks includes; sewing, weighing of bags, working with robotics, spout filling.
  • Palletizes the bags in the required pattern.
  • Assist with the reworks of spilt product powder or off-spec/broken bags by moving or cleaning products to the correct areas.To assist and carry out manual loading of containers and trucks.
  • Loading tasks include hooking of bags, directing forklift drivers, directing truck drivers,
  • Notify shift leaders of any issues.
  • Assists with work permits.
  • Assists with running the warehouse by substituting for colleagues in their absence.
  • Collects empty bags from the bag store and delivers them to the plant. Signs for correct bags after double-counting them to check that the number issued matches the request.
  • Checking pack notes, loading sheets for accuracy. Verifying loading documentation so that the correct orders are dispatched.
  • Assist in any other plant (MCP or Kalori or K-Plant) as per business requirements when needed.

Driving – Payloader or Forklift

  • With the aid of a forklift, to carry out associated duties such as moving pallets/slings (loaded and unloaded),loading containers and trucks.
  • With the aid of payloader carry out associated tasks such as filling the bagging hopper, filling fines hopper at K-plant, filling coal, ash removal.
  • Records the production output on a pallet output check sheet together with his name, pallet number, warehouse bay and date, and hands the signed, completed sheet to necessary people.
  • Helps with systematic inspection

Profile


This role is temporary on a fixed term basis. The role shift based 10:00 – 22:00 and workdays may include weekends.

Matric (Grade 12)

Experience in Bagging Plant or loading of trucks and containers.

Experience in warehousing.

Forklift and or a payloader license and experience preferred.

Physically fit and able to perform manual work.

Ability to lift and carry 25kg’s bags or 50kg (with some assistance)

Further higher education qualifications will be preferred
