Purpose of the Job
The purpose of the Maintenance Assistant role is to support the technical team in maintaining the group’s facilities and equipment. The role also assists with conducting preventative maintenance and identifying when items and facilities need upgrading or replacing. The role reports into the Technical Manager and is instrumental for providing information and advice on maintenance issues to clients and stakeholders. This is a role that involves extensive handy work.

Job Objectives
Assist with plant inspections and report any unsafe conditions to the Technical Manager.Ensure that the maintenance area is kept clean and safe at all times.Identify and escalate possible risks that will require intervention of the technical manager.
Driving to collect or deliver items and maintenance equipment, and towing of diesel bowser for generator filling.
Qualifications
Grade 12/Matric – (highly beneficial).
Technical maintenance, compliance OHS certifications – (beneficial).
Experience
+1 years’ experience in a Property Maintenance role (or similar) with practical experience in and exposure to: electrical and mechanical technical maintenance including aircon, structural and plumbing maintenance within a shopping centre/office park or complex building environment – (essential).Valid driver’s license code EB – (essential).Ability to travel at short notice as per operational requirements – (essential).
Knowledge and Skills
Proficiency in MS Office 365 with basic Excel skills – (beneficial).
