Role Outline
To ensure efficient and correct delivery of goods in a timeous and professional manner, according to operational procedures and standards. Control and manage the delivery process. Ensuring customer service is of the highest standard and that losses to the company are kept to a minimum. To maintain the integrity of the company at all times.
General Accountabilities
Vehicles and equipment care, ensuring that they are kept in good running order and to timeously report any defects
Maintain an excellent customer service to internal and external customers
To report and record any non-conformity with regards to customer merchandise
Maintain high levels of hygiene of the vehicle
To work within operating areas as determined by management and the needs of the business
To ensure that all documentation is accounted for and completed as per instruction
Maintain co-operation with the Operations Department to ensure correct inventory on vehicle for delivery
Execute delivery of all goods as per the load manifest
Execute a daily vehicle inspection, using a checklist
Ensure that the vehicle is driven in a safe and courteous manner
Complete manifest documentation correctly, accurately and timeously
Report any discrepancies to Management
Report to Operations for loading timeously
Follow customer delivery sequence, record time of arrival and departure on trip sheet
Ensure customer signs for the correct goods
• Conduct all communication in a polite and professional manner, which promotes respect, goodwill and trust
• Wear the Company uniform with pride, ensuring they are clean and presentable
Attend de-briefing session on return from the trip

Qualifications
Matric/ Relevant NQF level 4 qualification-essential
Valid Code 14 licence and valid PDP/working knowledge of K53

Ability to communicate effectively with team members
Person should know what products are handled by the Company
Person needs basic understanding of distribution and transport methods
Person should be able to enforce health and safety procedures and identify hazards
Person should have a good understanding of quality as a key value
Awareness of importance of security
Operational knowledge and understanding of service delivery
Ability to understand instructions and to accurately carry out instructions – must listen effectively and convey ideas logically
React to customers in a courteous and professional manner
Person should be able to propose different solutions to problems when asked to do so – must be able to act of their own without being urged to do so
Ability to meet time limits as set
2 – 5 Years driving experience in an FMCG environment
Ability to enforce health and safety procedures
Ability to read, understand and follow instructions
Experience in warehousing / logistics / FMCG environment
Ability to work under pressure
Ability and Flexibility to work shifts
Knowledge of client’s requirements and customers’ needs
Languages
English – verbal and written.
