VACANCY

    THE FOLLOWING VACANCY EXISTS IN OUR FLEET DEPARTMENT

 (ABLE SEAMEN – DECK)

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:  The Deck and Bridge onboard a Freezer Trawler or Fresh Fish Trawler

LOCATION:                            Fishing vessel – Trawling 

REPORTS TO:                       Deck Officers

JOB PURPOSE: 

To assist with vessel deck & fishing operations

Assist with lookout duties.

JOB DIMENSION:       

Assist with rigging requirements.

Assist with net rigging & repairs.

Assist with splicing of wires and ropes when required.

Assist with lookout duties when required.

Assist with factory operations.

Assist with any other deck activities, i.e cleaning, painting, crane operation, chipping, routine maintenance of deck and rigging equipment.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

In possession of a SAMSA Able Seamen COC

Medically fit to work at sea.

Proof of Seafarer Medical Certificate (valid or expired)

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Interpersonal skills

Good Communication skills

Ability to work with wire, rope, nets & rigging blocks.

Crane operation

Look out knowledge.
