The purpose of the Experienced Sorter is to sort diamond production from DBCM and contract sorting clients to produce a consistent and accurate assortment to the required standards by following precise codified processes and using bespoke sorting technologies.
Key Responsibilities include:
Ensure that all tasks are performed in a safe manner and according to organizational SHE standards.
Adhere to all procedures designed to maintain security, integrity and confidentiality of the product and company data.
Escalate and report all non-compliances to Senior Production Controller or Audit, depending on the anomaly’s nature.
Ensure allocated production workload is completed to the agreed product quality standards with close reference to samples and assortment guides, following a right-first-time approach.
Carry out routine operations on the various computer systems to support the sorting/valuing function.
Coach, support and confirm sorting tasks completed by Supervised Sorters or Trainees, so as to maintain overall assortment consistency within the department.
Network appropriately to flag any mechanical problems that may arise with Technical Support Services / Production Standards / Security or any stakeholder relevant to the process.
Extensive experience in diamond sorting (5 years or more).
Competent in valuation (price point) assortments as well as presentation assortments.
Data driven mindset.
Data collection (production and non-production data like observations, near hits).
Safety first mindset.
