Purpose of Job
The purpose of the job is to safeguard premises, assets, information and personnel, interact with customers and people, operate security equipment and execute security functions within the ambit of the law and company policies and procedures.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
Respond to operational emergencies and Security related incidents
Complete Weekly / Monthly Reports
Safety Performance (Reporting near misses, Operate IMS System, Conduct tool box talks) Crime combating utilizing well planned intelligence driven operations
Providing tactical assistance to other functions within the Department
Perform high-risk operations (Escorting)
High level & quick response to security incidents
Coordinate surveillance of area based on crime trends
Perform high visibility crime prevention initiatives
Safe handling of firearms
To initiate crime prevention actions where applicable
Respond to crime incidents
Give evidence in disciplinary hearings and court proceedings
Formal Education
Grade 12
Registration with PSIRA Grade B or relevant Law proven enforcement formal training
1 Year certificate in Security management or relevant qualification
Supervisory course or equivalent qualification
Driver’s License –2 years proven driving experience
Qualify to be registered with National Key Point Secretariat
Firearm competency for business purposes
Special Task Force Training (Will Be To Your Advantage – SAPS, SANDF)
National Intervention Unit Training (Will Be To Your Advantage – SAPS)
Tactical Response Training (SAPS or other)
Special Forces Operator Training (Will Be To Your Advantage – Recce, SANDF)
Positive Security Clearance
Minimum Experience
Computer and Security systems skills
6 Years total Security / SAPS, SANDF, Other and Correctional Services relevant experience of which 2 years’ experience in controlling work activities
