Purpose of Job
To provide welding and fabrication coordination by organising resources in the delivering quality control, quality assurance, fabrication, welding, heat treatment and the use of service providers.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
Monitor on site on RWS, compiling a bill of material and planning Approve ,scope and plan all notification, ensure execution of each Permit system 100% compliance Keep to -3% budgets for the NDT conducted and hired labour and heat treatment. Minimize budget of welding consumables and materials(store) to be ordered Ensure that work standards are met according to quality standards & compliance Coordination with the field subcontractors for all welding procedures specifications and procedures qualification reports Elaborating and coordinating the welding specifications , and codes/standards Review course and effects of welding defects and take remedial actions Coordination with the third party NDT inspection company Review of the radiographic films and all NDT reports on a daily basis Reviewing the inspection and testing methods and procedures for inspections Witnessing of welder qualification testing and procedure qualification testing Witnessing and remedial repair welding Monitor any post weld heat treatment on site/shop & review the completed chart Selection of welds for NDT Review day to day application for x-rays of welds Coordinate the issue of NCR through the line manager Approval of new repair work sheets according to line classes Coordinating all relevant documents for the RWS for the job to proceed (approved ABC stamped drawings ,heat treatment procedures, approved WPS ,qualified welder ,BOM for materials to be used Make sure that all welds are quality engineering welds according to codes requirements Optimises and controls resources effectively Perform all tasks cost consciously Determine if equipment is safe and satisfactory for further use Welders performance / qualifications / data base / history Issue welder stamps Independently gather information and data accumulation Awareness, focus and control of cost / budget Ensure execution of planned and emergency work is compiled in time Independently gather information and data accumulation Achieve safety and risk objectives Apply safety in all practices, specifically project planning and execution Understand the company vision and values demonstrate the desired behaviours in agreement with the Sasol values Communicate and behave professionally so that actions result in high level of credibility, trust and respect Understand the company vision and values Demonstrate the desired behaviours in agreement with the Sasol Improve own skills and knowledge Develop effective manager and peer working relationships in other departments Ensure that work and projects (RWS) plans meets the technical and professional objectives Take ownership for personal improvement and skills development Ensure that personal development plan is completed, implemented and tracked. Set and work towards own performance targets and goals as per personal performance agreement Update performance goals and performance agreement regularly Ensure timely execution of planned daily orders/RWS Review compliance and follow up against the standards and objectives Ensure work is completed as planned Manage own work planning and delivery according to targets Adheres to standard procedures and practices with guidance

Formal Education
Welding related trade with 2 years experience as Artisan.National Senior Certificate with English, Math’s & Physical Science SG/HG or N3 equivalent to Grade 12SAIW Level 2 Inspection or SAIW Level 2 supervisorsASME codes (Wish).
OR
National Senior Certificate with English, Math’s & Physical Science SG/HG or N3 equivalent to Grade 12In total a minimum of 24 months as a Welding Specialist / Quality Specialist
