The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for self-motivated individual to ensure SANBI’s employees are remunerated according to agreements and legislation, manage employee’s benefits according to internal policies.

This position requires a degree in in Financial Management, Financial Sciences, Accounting Science or equivalent qualification with NQF 7. Honours or equivalent degree at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. This position also requires 6 years’ experience in relevant field, 3 years of which should be in supervisory position(s).

The following competencies are required for the candidates to be successful in this position: Some experience in customer service would be an advantage; Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, Generally Recognised Accounting Practice; Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; Financial report writing and in possession of a valid driver’s licence with at least one-year practical driving experience will be advantageous and a willingness to travel.

Key Performance Responsibilities include:

Provide assistance with the compliance and communication regarding remuneration and benefits processes;

Manage employee benefits and analyse financial information;Manage Personnel and Salaries management system (PERSAL);Oversee payroll process;Human capital development and transformation; andImplement and drive change and transformation.Application procedure:1) An application form must accompany the CV together with a letter motivating why the applicant should be favourably considered for this position, and certified qualifications confirming that the minimum qualifications are met (applicants lacking evidence of meeting minimum qualifications and relevant experience will not be considered).
