About the job:
The CSIR has an internship opportunity in the Facilities management and Security Services portfolio. The purpose of the internship is to provide graduates with an opportunity to gain practical work experience through performing Security Systems Technician Intern duties. The position is based in Pretoria, Scientia campus.
Key responsibilities:
Assist the Technical Specialist with the design and upgrade of Security Systems across all CSIR sites in line with approved projects;
Assist under supervision with preventative maintenance for all installed security systems to ensure that they continue to function optimally;
Assist under supervision corrective maintenance of security systems to minimize down time and improve availability of systems;
Participate in security risk assessment for all our sites / buildings;
Issuing of Maintenance Job Cards;
Monitoring of Security Systems Maintenance Service Level turnaround times;
Assist the Technical Specialist in the Management of the appointed Service Provider SLA (Organize monthly SLA meetings, keep records decisions of SLA meetings, Inspect work completed by Service Provider, keep records of all documents when corresponding with the Service Provider).
A Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering;
