Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) is a public, not-for-profit institution that exhibits, collects, preserves and researches contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora; conceives and hosts international exhibitions; develops supporting educational, discursive and enrichment programs; encourages intercultural understanding; and strives for access for all.
The museum’s galleries feature rotating, temporary exhibitions with a dedicated space for the permanent collection. The institution also includes the Centre for Art Education, the Centre for the Moving Image, and a project space for emerging artists.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Retail Store Assistant to join our dynamic retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, stock control, and ensuring the store is kept clean and organized.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their purchases
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently using point of sale system
- Inform customers about promotions and discounts
- Maintain a clean and tidy store appearance
- Restock shelves and maintain inventory levels
- Use product knowledge to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions
- Collaborate with coworkers and management to ensure smooth store operations
Qualifications and Skills:
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level
Previous customer service experience is preferredAble to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods of time
