Faurecia Is Recruiting:IT Trainee/Intern – Port Elizabeth, South Africa

Reports to: FCM IT Manager

Contract: 12 months contract as part of our Graduate program

Faurecia Clean Mobility (FCM) is a global player in the automotive industry and is represented in 25 countries, operating 77 sites, with 7 R&D centres and employs 21 500 employees worldwide. FCM South Africa is looking for an IT Graduate to be based at our plant in Port Elizabeth.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The IT Graduate supports the IT Team in the deployment of the IT activities of the plant and deploys according to Group’s policy.

The main missions of the role are to:

Assist the IT Manager with administration tasks. These could include, but are not limited to, ERP support, shop floor application support, backup/restore procedures, office application support, hardware support, network support, monitoring of critical systems and processes, after hour support.
Give the technical and functional first level support to the users, assuming the resolution of all kind of IT incidents reported by the users. Monitor the helpdesk for new incidents and requests and action as a priority.
Monitor Security Indicators and correct and resolve non-conformances as a priority
Prepare new PCs and Laptops for use on the network according to Faurecia standard installation policies.
Ensure the ownership of the System by the user. If necessary, co-ordinate training to user and application of the procedures.
Ensure the application of Group standards, especially concerning hardware, software, security policies, software licenses control, inventory, etc.
Apply IT procedures specific to the site
Maintain and update site IT site documentation continuously to ensure its accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Tertiary qualification with specialisation in Information Technology or currently studying towards IT.
Industry related courses completed (A+, N+, MCSE, MCP, MOUS and Cisco will be beneficial)
Academic results above 70% in their final year whilst maintaining a 66% average over the duration of their studies.
Proficiency in MS Office Excel, Power Point, Word
Experiential Learning in IT in an industrial environment
Strong written and oral communications skills
Results-oriented, committed team-player
Willingness to grow in a high-pressure environment
International mindset
Available to commence work immediately if successful
