Job Description

Onecart is looking for a seasoned Training Specialist / Learning and Development Lead who will conduct focused educational/training needs and assessments for specified targeted audiences.
Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate a range of responsive educational curricula, training programs, and content within defined fields of expertise. Ensure relevant training reporting is compiled and readily available timeously, i.e. WSP, training status/ progress reports, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Interfaces with L&D’s internal customers to understand and caters to the learning requirements of OneCart
Monitor and manage the quality of training delivery and relationships with trainers and facilitators’ • Understanding customer needs and appropriate learning solutions can be suggested to the customer.
Design training modules as and when required.
Deliver training programs as per business requirements.
Leads and guides the Trainers and Facilitators in meeting the key priorities of the L&D function while working to meet deliverables.
Collaborate with counterparts from other Massmart entities.
Establish networks and build relationships with internal customers, stakeholders, and team members within the organisation.
Adjusts quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity, and rapid change within OneCart
Participates in organisational change efforts and creates change management content and material as required.
Create and execute learning strategies and programs
Evaluate individual and organisational development needs
Implement various learning methods companywide (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, online training) • Design and deliver e-learning courses, workshops and other training content


Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities
Help managers develop their team members through career pathing
Hire and oversee trainers and freelancers
Help line managers and trainers solve specific training problems • Keep abreast with developments and trends in L&D
Have excellent understanding of different learning techniques
Provide training registers timeously, and collaborate with recruitment team in attendance updates to ensure training numbers required are met.
Partner with Operations, Recruitment & Onboarding office to coordinate, facilitate, and measure training related activities
Ensure training reports are done and available timeously


Annually compile and submit a WSP on behalf of the business (OneCart).
Track performance and provide identified retraining and process improvement opportunities when necessary.
Ensure follow-through on support documentation for candidate packs is done as last audit on candidate packs
Accountable for the Training master data
Report on assessment results for all Shoppers timeously and within agreed deadlines
Ensure compilation of final lists at the end of each project
Report on training stats to Line Manager and Head of HR
Keep accurate records of all logistical training expenditure
Keep accurate Admin records
Maintain a positive attitude
Take ownership of driving your career development (skills and knowledge)
Plan and priorities, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands to achieve agreed deliverables • Communicate effectively, maintain relationships
Follow any lawful and reasonable instruction from your line manager
Act as part of the Training team by assisting other members of the team to achieve common goals • Consistently live and be an example of the Company values
Timely reporting of all instances of suspected or proven fraud via the appropriate reporting channel
Adherence to the company policies and associated company policies and procedures
