Tele-Prospector Learnership: Old Mutual

Tele-prospectors are required to engage customers telephonically, gather data and identify needs and opportunities. This role partners with the Financial Advisor to help reach the required outcome. Tele- prospectors generate qualified leads and refer these to their panel of Financial Advisors.This role is non-advice giving.6-month learnership.Subject to performance, appointed on a 6-month fixed term contract.Subject to performance, could result in being appointed into New Entrantmodel as an Academy Adviser.

Role overview

The nature of the role is such that incumbents will make scripted outbound calls to new prospects and existing customers with the intent being to refer leads to early tenured Academy Financial Advisers for lead conversions to increase their productivity levels.

The role works closely with Academy Advisers to ensure a steady flow of viable leads are received and converted into meaningful business that is maintained by the Academy Adviser.

Furthermore, the role provides admin support to higher tenured New Entrant Financial Advisers such as setting up annual reviews, raising quotes, extracting Astute information in preparation for the annual review engagement, or gaining insights to new customers. Any other admin related to the business submission process.

The role could also provide admin support to an Established Financial Adviser who has an early tenured Academy Adviser assigned to them. However, a clear mentor/mentee relationship should exist between the EFA and Academy Adviser, with a sharing of commission where it is found that the Academy Adviser assists with working the dormant clients in the EFA’s business (80/20).

Key Result Areas

Receiving leads uploaded into ConnexOne and other area or regional campaigns.

Make a minimum of 35 scripted calls daily from ConnexOne to prospects (cold, orphaned, existing customers).

Load the prospect onto Sparkfolios and alert Academy Adviser of referred leads.

Make brochure call. Make introduction/review calls.

Secure introduction/review meetings for the Academy Adviser.

Contact and secure annual review calls for higher tenured New Entrant Advisers.

Raise quotes on Xplan and extract customer information from Astute for higher

tenured New Entrants or Established Financial Advisers.

Fulfil any other admin support related to the business submission process for higher tenured New Entrant Advisers.

Fulfil any other admin support related to the business submission process to Established Financial Adviser who have early tenured Academy Advisers assigned to them.

Critical Requirements:

Matric ( Passed Maths and English Literacy )

Must be unemployed South African Citizen

Between ages of 18 – 27 years old

Must be residing in the Western Cape

Clear Credit record

Clear Criminal record


Excellent verbal and written communication


Comfortable with dealing with rejection and objections



Bachelors Degree (B), High School (Grade 12)  (Required)
