Purpose of Position:

To perform and co-ordinate daily procurement functions to ensure efficient and timeous service delivery. Provide timeous assistance and advice to relevant internal users / clients with regards to the contract system as well as to provide general administrative functions.


Grade 12, National Certificate: Purchasing Management, Valid South African drivers licence (Code EB)

Required Experience:

Accounts payable experience, Experience in materials management / procurement, General administration experience, IT Experience, Knowledge: Computer / IT Specifications and available technology, Knowledge: Google and Google Mail, Knowledge: Meditech system, Knowledge: MS Excel, Knowledge: MS Word, Knowledge of stock control, accounts payable and general ledger processes and procedures, Supplier and contract experience

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with all cellphone requests, processes and contracts, Co-ordinate and arrange the procurement and maintenance of laboratory / office equipment and ensure efficient processing and recording of invoice and related administration, Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath, Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath, Manage and control equipment procurement and related contracts, Monitor and control the cost of all lab equipment on contract to ensure efficient processing and recording of invoices and related administration, Perform ad-hoc support in accordance with departmental requirements, Perform and co-ordinate MM helpdesk administration tasks to ensure the effective functioning of processes and service delivery, Perform general contract/departmental related administrative tasks to provide an effective administration support service and to ensure efficient access to information, Perform general departmental related administrative tasks, Perform MM administration tasks in order to ensure effective processing of invoices, receiving and corrections on Meditech as per lab / department / accounts payable requirements, Perform procurement duties to ensure accurate processing and recording of procurement documentation
