Introduction
We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Forklift Operator role based in our Cape Town operation, situated in Bellville South. The objective of the role: The Forklift Operator will be responsible for supply of packing material and packing of finished product in warehouse. Carry out any other reasonable instruction. Ensure no stoppages to line.
Job description
Inspect Forklift before start of day according to check sheet
Ensure that finished product is not damaged by forklift
Offloading full pallets off the line
Supply boards to be loaded on layer board machine
Bring pallets and load on pallet magazine
Packing finished product in warehouse
Make sure machines go on charge end of shift
Batteries must be checked (water levels and loose connections) before machine get used
Physical check on the machine must be done and any defects must be reported
Ensure Forklift is kept neat and tidy at all times
Report any irregularities pertaining to the forklift immediately
Make sure pallets are in good order
Make sure boards are in good order
Check that pallets are packed properly before taking to warehouse
Carry out any other reasonable instruction
Health, Safety and Quality
Minimum requirements
Grade 12/ Matric
Valid Forklift License
1 Year Experience
Ability to work under pressure
Forklift operation experience in a Manufacturing and/or FMCG production environment advantageous
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Team Player
Ability to work under pressure
Health & Safety compliance
