PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Operating farming equipment as needed for soil tillage and product transport. He/she will be responsible for assisting the Agricultural Equipment Operators and Foreperson with farm maintenance and repairs and general farm work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate tractors, while adhering to safety and operational requirements.
Inspect equipment condition daily.
Daily and weekly tractor servicing and basic maintenance.
Off-season maintenance
Carry out general farming activities on a daily basis and as per ad hoc instruction.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 (matric) qualification or equivalent
Valid drivers licence and/or tractor license
Experience in operating farm tractors
Must be safety conscious
Be able to communicate in English
Ability to periodically service farm equipment and execute basic machinery repairs
