Stellenbosch Municipality Is Hiring: Senior Superintendent Traffic Training and Education.

The successful incumbent will report to the foreperson sport grounds.

Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent • Basic Traffic Diploma and relevant 3-year Diploma

• 8 – years’ relevant experience of which 3 – years must be in a supervisory capacity in Traffic Enforcement

and Licensing or a similar Environment • Valid Code B Driver’s License • Applicant must have been appointed

as a Traffic Officer and should have been performing the functions within the past 12 months as prescribed by

the National Road Traffic Act (3A) • Appointment is subject to Police clearance • Must be in possession of a

Firearms competency certificate/ or able to acquire an official Firearm competency certificate within 6

months after appointment.

Other Requirements: Excellent interpersonal relations • Good report writing and oral communication skills in at

least two of the three official languages in the Western Cape (English, Afrikaans or Xhosa) • Excellent Computer

skills • Ability to work in a team and under pressure • Comprehensive knowledge of all applicable legislation

• Good organisation skills • Ability to communicate with people on different levels • Ability to deal with

conflict situations • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management procedures.

Responsibilities/Duties: Responsible for control and supervision of staff to ensure effective execution of tasks by

subordinates • Ensure effective performance by adhering to programs, schedules are executed and supervisors

are delegating such programs to staff • Monitoring is done on a continuous basis to ensure sufficient service

delivery • Compliance with relevant legislation • Managing personnel and performance • Ensure procedures,

systems and controls are in place • Ensure that all operational activities relating to Traffic Enforcement’s

area of responsibility are controlled and coordinated • Ensuring that all operational plans are executed and

reviewed on continuous basis • Manage the allocation of resources within the section • Control and verify administrative

functions as performed by supervisors • Liaise with public and clients, other departments/authorities

ito the Traffic Law Enforcement Section • Establish and maintain relationships with other departments, authorities

and agencies • Liaise with external stakeholders • Responsible for the processing and management

of overtime in conjunction with Deputy Chief Traffic Services • Responsible for leading, managing and coordinating

Traffic Enforcement, Special Events and Traffic Safety Educational programs • Responsible for all controls

and traffic flow management within the Traffic Law Enforcement section • Good governance in respect

of financial and administrative management • Responsible for knowledge sharing, training & skills development

• Monitor, assess and report on health & safety matters in the relevant section.

Salary: R 425 137.44 – R 551 855.78 Plus benefits
