The Council for Medical Schemes is a statutory body established by the Medical Schemes Act (131 of 1998) to provide regulatory supervision of private health financing through medical schemes.
The following positions exist for persons driven by a desire to protect the public interest.
SENIOR MANAGER: CLINICAL CONSULTING SERVICES
The purpose of the job is to oversee the provision of Clinical services, administer the Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMB) portfoho to ensure medical scheme members are protected and their entitlements are guaranteed, and to develop and implement the Prescribed Minimum Benefits regulation strategy.
SENIOR ACCREDITATION OFFICER : MCO
The purpose of the job is to design, ensure that Managed Care Organisations (MCOs) are properly accredited and monitored and that medical schemes providing their own managed care services comply with the managed care accreditation requirements.
CPD PRACTITIONER
The purpose of the job is to design and develop Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Quality Management Systems and procedures to enable CMS to be an approved CPD Quality Assurer. The role requires quality assurance of the development and implementation of training and CPD programmes for CMS-accredited healthcare brokers.
COMPLIANCE OFFICER
The purpose of the job is to foster compliance with the Medical Schemes Act (“MSA”) and other related legislation, and to take enforcement actions in cases of non-compliance.
ANALYST FINANCIAL SUPERVISION
The purpose of the job is to monitor and promote the overall financial performance of medical schemes in line with the financial requirements of the MSA through the analysis of financial information.
SENIOR ANALYST : FINANCIAL SUPERVISION
The purpose of the job is to monitor and promote the overall financial performance of medical schemes in line with the financial requirements of the MSA through the analysis of financial information and provide supervision and guidance to analysts.
