APPRENTICESHIPS: LOCATION:
Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic, Boilermaker, Auto- Elec Mpumalanga
REPORTING TO:
Workshop Foreman/Earthmoving Plant Manager
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: The effective repair and maintenance of all Heavy Earthmoving Equipment on site. with the least disruption to the site. Attempt to achieve maximum availability for each plant item on site.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES): Earthmoving Equipment Apprenticeship: X 10 Assist Artisan to (amongst others):
o Diagnose faults and repairs on all Earthmoving Equipment.
OCarry out preventative maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment to company standards. o Carry out all minor and major services.
Check machines and carry out repairs that are required.
O Report all breakdowns to management.
O Complete daily and weekly inspection sheets and advise notes.
Ordering of spares required for repair, maintenance, and services.
O Monitor and measure daily efficiencies.
Implement productivity improvement initiatives according to OE plan Ensure plant availability of 90%.
Coordinate services of all equipment and plant.
Boilermaker Apprenticeship: X 2
Assist Artisan to(amongst others):
Carry out maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment o Fabricate from drawings, welding and developments.
Auto-electrician Apprenticeship: X 2
Assist Artisan to (amongst others) o Adhere to organisational Safety andQuality requirements.
Checks electrical systems on designated fleet daily by visually inspecting operation of lights, flashers, warning systems, computers and analysing fault codes by using ET, VIMS on CAT machines and EDS. INSITE on O&K machines to determine root causes.
Carries out any electrical repairs to designated fleet e.g. wiring, starters or alternators Lists all faults which cannot be rectified immediately and report these to the PlantForeman for follow up action.
Arrange requisitions of any electrical spares needed for the designated fleet.
Carries outplanned electrical maintenance tovarious machines, asrequired
Check and sign all service cards on a daily basis on items repaired a Follow up on electrical breakdowns as a matter of urgency.
SCOPE:
Candidate must not be older than 40 years of age.
Candidates with the potential to become miners/ Artisans, must have grade 12 or higher
qualification that will progress through the adult education to N2 Engineering / Mechanical.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 Preferred
N2 with the following subjects: Mathematics, Science, Drawing andrelatedtrade theory(Boiler making/Plating/Fitting/Diesel/Electrical).
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS.
Valid Drivers’ License
No criminal record
Able to pass aptitude test.
Able to pass medical
Not currently or previously registered on leamership with a company Letter from the Local Counsellor as proof of residence
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Good communication skills
Practical experience in the relevant field with be advantageous:
