Bombela Maintenance is looking to recruit 1 x Artisan

The main purpose of this role is to deliver safe, on time and quality heavy overhaul maintenance and repairs of the Gautrain Fleet to support the company objective to ensure safe, reliable and available trains as per customer requirements.

These roles will be based at the Gautrain Maintenance Depot in Midrand, Johannesburg.

YOUR ROLE:

Compliance to safety, quality assurance and improvements during the heavy overhaul / repair activities
Perform heavy overhaul / repair activities on the Gautrain Fleet with the team
Perform Train Rescue and adhoc re-railing when required
Manage team members during activities and stand in for Senior Artisan when required
Effective team work and self-management.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified Artisan (Electrical Fitter, Fitter or Millwright)
Rail/ Production experience will be an advantage.
Proven track record of heavy maintenance experience will be an advantage.
South African citizen
Good computer literacy
Knowledge of Act 85 of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulation
Knowledge of Maintenance Systems and Processes
Good Interpersonal and Communication

Skills
Electrical knowledge will be an advantage
Advanced knowledge of hand-tools (electrical and pneumatic)
Ability to see in colour
Ability to work at heights
Fit and robust to physically manage heavy equipment and tools
Ability to work overtime when required.
Ability to read schematics (including pneumatic) and wiring diagram
Ability to work at night
Valid driver’s license
