Purpose of Job
To provide consulting and simple advisory support for the development and delivery of people-related frameworks, models and tools, based on a deep understanding of specific areas of expertise in the people space.
Recruitment Description
Identify critical gaps by means of Ref 100-501 (Statutory training), job observations, competency assessments, PDA’s,
HAZOPS, audits and incident investigations
Workplace skills plan for WSP cycle May-March each year
Learning matrices update/tracking and reporting
Facilitate the sign off and tracking of training plans for technical and safety training.
Upload all relevant PDP’s to training matrices/training plans (signed off by individuals and Snr Managers)
Align learning delivery interventions with learning plans
Competency/plant safety related learning material designed and reviewed/quality and standardisation
Assess learners with special needs; Adapt learning programmes for individuals with learning disabilities; Manage the remedial programme; Report if necessary
Accept and implement advice in order to improve business performance
Support line with Standard Operating Procedure updates.
Be part of projects/changes/upgrades/modifications to support learning delivery (MOC training)
Assist with and support employees to compile their Portfolio of Evidences (POEs) for RPLs related to trade specific qualifications and/or slotting/progression within the MSP career path
Conduct and/or be part of task risk assessments and competency gap closing strategies
Support with training plan execution and learning delivery to new employees
Orientate a learner into the application of their skills within a workplace context. Guide learners towards competent application of their skills within a workplace context through e.g. application projects/assignments.
Key Accountabilities
Workplace asessment process is conducted according to the relevant/standardised frameworks and guidelines
Design standardised plant assessments and review/update regularly (formative and summative plus 3rd party assessments)
Take part of competency assessments and support line with the gap closing interventions
Part of practical assessment process to declare employees competent (if and when a registered SME)
Update learning records for each employee (personal file, learning management system, POE files, learning matrices, etc)
Update Workplace Skills Plan to assist with tracking and monitoring (plan vs actual)
Update training plans regularly to assist with reporting (plan vs actual)
Review done and reports submitted on Learning activities (learning matrices and/or Personal Development Plan execution)
Review training plans and report monthly on plan vs actual
Update Workplace Skills Plan and report to SDF progress (plan vs actual)
Design appropriate evaluation methods, analyzed performance data and proposed corrective actions in place to address the gaps
Manage stakeholder relationships
Build constructive working relationships with manager, peers, clients and other service providers.
Outputs
Assist and support learners to manage their learning experiences by sourcing and maintaining information to assist and support them
Assist with scoping for external interventions as part of the vendor management process
Examinator for eLearning and/or any system related learning delivery options
Support with the delivery of Back to Basics classroom training delivery to new Operations employees
Support 18.2 learners with regards to on the job training and workbook completion
Provide area specific/HF classroom training to Contractors/Service Providers
Coach and mentor learners on the job – one on one training
Support and be part of the planning/development of learning strategies and delivery of learning to the learning shift ensuring continous learning interventions in place
Manage and in some cases design/review learning material and/or learning enablement options with regards to learning gaps identified for eg learner guides, facilitator guides, assessment guides, assessment tools and learner log books according to required standards
Develop/prepare learning material for projects/changes/additions to plant
Assist line with the conversion of SOP’s to learning manuals
Assist with competency mapping/job profile design to support learning delivery
Formal Education
Grade 12 English, Mathematics & Science
Occupational Trade – Chemical Operations NQF level 4
OD – ETDP certificate
Qualified NQF 4 Constituent Assessor (wish)
