Job Description

Position: Assistant Warehouse Manager

Reporting to: Warehouse Manager

Job Purpose: To assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that stock levels are maintained accurately, goods are dispatched and received on time, and that warehouse policies and procedures are followed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in maintaining inventory levels and controls by monitoring stock movements, identifying slow moving and obsolete inventory, and reporting on stock levels and trends.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating the receipt, dispatch, and storage of goods and materials.
  • Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organised, and safe at all times, and that all employees adhere to safety standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of warehouse staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Respond to queries and customer complaints and liaise with other departments to resolve any issues.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of team members, identify any training requirements and implement relevant training programmes.
  • Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly reports and keep accurate records of all activities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing warehouse policies and procedures, and ensure compliance.
  • Assist with annual stock takes and ensure that all discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
  • Participate in and contribute to regular meetings with other departments.

Person Specification:

  • Experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Demonstrable leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and individually.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of inventory control systems.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Forklift license (desirable).

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a warehouse environment and must be physically fit and able to lift heavy loads. They may be required to work weekends, early mornings, and late evenings.

MIE check will be conducted.
