Job Description

Managed People Solutions is looking to hire a Logistics \ Dispatch Supervisor for their client in the manufacturing industry based in Chloorkop, Kempton Park.

Key Responsibilities

Create and implement best practice dispatch principles, policies, and processes across the organisation to improve operational and financial performance
Plan, coordinate and manage the movement of all outgoing orders
Ensures organization and the proper sequence of loads is delivered to maximise efficiency
Continually analyses cycle routes to identify potential delivery issues related to traffic, allocation, and driver’s available hours of service to ensure operational efficiency and profitability
Inspect orders to ensure the correct quantities and products match what was invoiced to the recipients
Manage Drivers by ensuring correct quantities and products are loaded to that which was invoiced and ensure driver adherence to optimal route cycles
Ensure that customer orders are delivered safely, effectively, and efficiently and in line with the company requirements
Resolve any arising problems or complaints
Manage company owned fleet, ensure all vehicles are well maintained and that standard daily and monthly checks are carried out
Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs
Oversee the warehouse, ensure the integrity of stock accuracy, and manage stock movements with the help of team members
Ensure that the warehouse is well maintained, neat and clean at all times
Identify and resolve any stock discrepancies and ensure actual stock and system records agree
Keep track of slow moving and obsolete stock
Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the dispatch process
Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation is available
Oversee general site maintenance to ensure that the entire operation operates effectively at all times
Supervise, coach and train drivers and warehouse team members
Experience and Qualifications:

Education:

Grade12 plus relevant degree or 3-year diploma
Experience:

Minimum of 4 years’ experience within dispatch and logistics, industry experience is advantageous
Excellent administrative and computer skill
Own Reliable transport
