POSITION Firefighter I (x21) (Re-Advert)

DEPARTMENT : Community Services

TERM OF APPOINTMENT: Permanent

SALARY SCALE :R113 896, 30 per annum (excluding benefits)

PLACE OF WORK : Sekhukhune District Municipality

QUALIFICATIONS: Grade 12, Firefighter I course, or equivalent to Firefighter I course; Hazmat Awareness; First Aid Level 3 and Medical Test NFPA 1582. No criminal record.

EXPERIENCE: 1-year relevant operational experience, with Code EB Drivers Licence will be an added advantage.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: Local government legislations. The incumbent will also be expected to have good interpersonal relations and communications skills.

SUMMARY OF CORE FUNCTIONS: Perform efficacious fire services and respond to fire and rescue incidents in and out of the area of jurisdiction. Perform specialservices as notified; Perform humanitarian services, respond to all emergency incidents; Ensure effective and efficient fire preventative strategies; Ensure inspectionsof fire equipment. Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by relevant seniors in the District. Must be able to handle stressful situations, must not be claustrophobic, Must not be alto phobic, Flexibility.
