2023/24 Supply Chain Management/Procurement Internship

SSAP has an exciting opportunity available in Durban (Dube Trade port), for a candidate who has Supply Chain Management Degree or equivalent qualification. 12 months Internship.

Minimum Requirements

Matric / Grade 12

Supply Chain Management Degree

Computer literacy, especially in MS Excel

The internship will cover but may not be limited to the following areas:

Assists the Purchasing Team in the continuous flow of raw materials to manufacturing and service. processes in the most efficient and cost effective manner

Responsible for supporting the Purchasing team with the following Purchasing mechanical parts from local suppliers

Management PO/DO

Oversee the total enquiry tender process

Pro-actively identify supply risks and develop mitigating strategies

Ensure the uninterrupted supply of goods and services through ensuring the availability of a capable supply market

Manage supplier performance

Minimization of aging stocks

RMA processing

Assist the Procurement group’s leader to manage the group

Balance Sheet recons

General Filing

Assisting the Purchasing department with adhoc duties

Required Skills and Competencies

Proficiency in English (written & spoken)

Excellent communication skills

Decision Making – Analytical, problem solving & auditing skills Planning and organizing skills

Initiating Action – Proactive & assertive, prompt, attentive Work Standards – accuracy & attention to detail Observant, firm and able to work well under pressure

Team player
