We are actively seeking a dynamic and talented Electrical Engineering Intern to join our esteemed Milling division team based in Pretoria West. This internship opportunity is ideally suited for candidates who have successfully completed their national diploma in electrical engineering at a technical college and are eager to gain practical industry experience. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to real-world projects and advancing your development in the field.

Minimum Requirements
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering/ Degree (BSc/BEng) in Electrical Engineering

Successful completion of an electrical engineering program at a technical college is a prerequisite.

Duties & Responsibilities
Support Electrical Engineering Projects: Assist our team of experienced electrical engineers in designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and components. Collaborate on various projects while gaining hands-on experience in a professional setting.

Conduct Research and Analysis: Conduct research to enhance our understanding of electrical engineering principles, industry trends, and emerging technologies. Analyze data to identify patterns, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that can improve our operations and processes.

Troubleshoot Electrical Systems: Work alongside senior engineers to troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment. Identify and solve electrical issues to ensure the smooth functioning of our operations. Develop an understanding of electrical safety protocols and standards, adhering to them at all times.

Assist in Documentation: Create accurate and detailed technical documentation, such as electrical schematics, diagrams, and reports. Contribute to the development of project plans, ensuring effective communication of project progress and challenges.

Collaborate in Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and project managers, to ensure timely and successful completion of projects. Learn project management methodologies and contribute to project planning, execution, and monitoring. Assist with managing contractors and ensuring that all safety protocols are observed during the undertaking of project work.

Stay Updated on Industry Standards: Stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in electrical engineering. Continuously update your knowledge on technological advancements, regulations, and safety standards to enhance your professional growth.

Conduct Design Analysis of Existing Plant Systems: Analyse various systems on the plant including Motor Control Centres, automation networks and electrical protection coordination, and provide insight into shortfalls and corrective actions.

Energy Efficiency: Assist in executing and identifying various energy savings initiatives including lighting studies, motor efficiency audits and process optimisation.
