Introduction

SPAR Lowveld, a division of The SPAR Group Ltd. is recruiting for a Data Controller (Analyst), at its Distribution Centre, located in Nelspruit.

Job description
The purpose of the position is to work with key accounts, ensuring compliance to financial policies and procedures and performing all accounting and reporting related activities for the National Guild and Build It Guild and Mozambique.

Key Performance Areas:

Develop and preparation of account business review packs.
Invoicing, data capture, raising accruals and reviewing the general ledger mid-month and month end.
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
Vat reconciliations and vat returns prepared timeously.
Produce and distribute reports to department heads on a monthly basis as well as prepare and populate budget schedules.
Preparation of Guild company commentary – per month end results.
Prepare/load creditor payments at month month/when required.
Assist with audit year end requirements.
Review creditor payments for Moz and Guild.
Review weekly expense claims for payment.
Provide assistance to DC Managers through data analysis delivering actionable recommendations.
Design and develop automated reporting processes.
Ensure timeous delivery of predefined reports.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and data integrity across multiple reporting systems.
Utilise information to analyse performance and highlight trends for corrective action.
Various administrative tasks.


Minimum requirements


National Senior Certificate (Matric) Pre-requisite.
Diploma/Degree in Financial Accounting essential.
At least 3 years’ experience in analytics, finance, or retail industry role.
Good communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver’s license.
A high degree of confidentiality, emotional maturity, ethical values and integrity.
Must have a high stress tolerance and the ability to priorities and execute tasks efficiently in a highly pressurized environment.
High level of numeracy skills and attention to detail.
Quality orientated and self-driven to achieve results.
Compliance with regulations / policies / procedures / VAT / Tax (complete VAT Recon; prepare Tax Packs and deal with all SARS queries).
