Pump Technician Wanted: Pentalin – South Africa

Roles And Responsibilities

• 3-5 years’ experience working in a service workshop
• Mechanical experience of building pumps and also working on pumps (preferably centrifugal pumps)
• Will be required to do in workshop and field services
Forklift operating for moving stock and repairs around will be required Experience in managing of staff such as workshop assistants
• Good time keeping is essential.
• Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office
• Must be able to follow existing procedures and implement new policies and procedures in the workshop

• Must know and adhere to all Health and Safety requirements in the Workshop
• Must be deadline driven
• Candidate must be capable of creating a job card and quoting.
• Must be able to work with people
• Must know basic conditions of employment and adhere to them when dealing with staff
• Will be required to work overtime when necessary
• Must be willing to learn more skills and do training
• Must be able to complete a task in reasonable and required time.
• Must have a good understanding of stock and spares levels,
• Must think and be PROACTIVE
• Must be able to work as a team player

Qualifications:
• N3 in Mechanical Engineering
• Qualified Artisan Fitter or Fitter and Turner
• Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
• Must have a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience,

• Pragma ONKEY, Microsoft office (Word, excel, outlook) skills be an advantage, English language proficiency written and reading.
• Strategic thinker, negotiation skills regarding Service Level agreements etc,
• Budget control and financial aptitude and knowledge,
• Have rigorous attention to detail,
• Knowledge of various brand Centrifugal pumps
• Ability to translate and meet maintenance requirements as specified,
• Trouble shooting ability (RCA Methodologies)
• Strong conceptualisation skills
• Must have own transport and valid driver’s license
