FLSmidth Is Hiring: Storeman – Johannesburg

Role Purpose:

To ensure that good accurate picking, packing and loading are kept and performed speedily according to set procedures and quality standards.

Key performance areas:

Receive pull sheet from receiving.
Inspect parts received against the PT document.
Pull the appropriate packaging material for packaging.
Mark the packaging with the correct Pull ticket/Sales order number. This will ensure that there is no confusion.
Make sure the parts are clearly identifiable by means of ensuring that there are barcoded stickers on all items.
Pack the parts layer by layer and take photograph of each layer.
Storeman will take a picture of each layer with the pull ticket visible for future reference.
Weigh the box.

Clearly display the weight of the box on the box with a black marker. Add the weight and dimensions clearly and neatly to the pull ticket.
Storeman will remove his own box or container to the designated loading area.
The Storeman will check that the packing list he or she received corresponds according to what was stated on the pick ticket and the items packed.
The packing list will be placed in the correct sealable plastic folder and stapled to the packaging.
One packing list will be stapled to the lid and one list to the side of the box.
A pallet will have one packing list in front and one in the back.
Loading of trucks as required
Assist the department manager in achieving departmental goals and objectives.
Other duties may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:

Minimum 5 years in a relevant experience in a fast paced environment.
Matric.
Forklift license will be an advantage.
Crane license will be an advantage.
Must be willing to work overtime.
Good communication skills in English.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Well organized with the ability to prioritize tasks as needed, coupled with good planning capabilities.
The ability to concentrate on a task over a period without being distracted.
The ability to work with minimum supervision but under extreme pressure and be prepared to work extended hours.
Declared Physical fit to handle heavy-duty e.g. lifting up to 25kg regularly and 45 kg occasionally, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, and manual dexterity.
