Freight Services Officer Required: Qantas Freight South Africa

The Freight Services Officer is responsible for our day to day contact with customers across the United Kingdom and South Africa. Primarily they are accountable for providing our international freight customers with a friendly, engaging and professional reservations and booking service that differentiates Qantas Freight from its competitors. The Freight Services Officer role is also responsible for the preparation of accurate export flight plans, monitoring inbound freight loads and liaising with 3rd party Ground Handling Agents across the territory to ensure compliance with load instructions. The role will likewise have responsibility for office administration duties including the cataloguing, filing and archiving of auditable documents such as rating and invoicing information. The role is part of a small, collaborative and inclusive team. The ability to work on Public Holidays is required.
You’ll have:
Air freight industry knowledge gained via airline, freight forwarder or ground handling warehouse environment preferred
Strong written and spoken English
The ability to work independently, be self-motivated and disciplined while completing tasks with a high degree of accuracy
Confidence to make decisions within set parameters and seek assistance/escalate as required
PC literacy with particular regard to Microsoft 365/Office suite of products. Experience with an Air Freight booking platforms and/or Salesforce experience would be very highly regarded.
Ability and passion for building constructive working partnerships with all levels of customer, supplier and internal organisation
Willingness to learn and general desire and want to achieve coupled with positive disposition
