Minopex Is Hiring: General Engineering Superintendent – Fabrication & Projects – Lesotho

Introduction
The position will be based at the Letseng Diamonds mine site in Lesotho. The site-based work roster will apply but may vary depending on immediate site production requirements. Only Lesotho Citizens will be considered for this position which is also part of Minopex Lesotho’s succession plan pipeline.
Description
The purpose of this position is to manage the reconstruction, improvement and refurbishment of equipment, plant and infrastructure to ensure that the quality of work is performed according to operational requirements, technical specifications, legislative and safety standards and is cost-effective as opposed to outsourcing cost.
Duties and Responsibilities
Set refurbishment and construction targets according to production and engineering needs
Integrate and co-ordinate engineering and technical maintenance plans
Integrate work schedules in conjunction with other Engineering / Process teams
Ensure plant availability by deploying engineering teams to reconstruct, redesign, refurbish and improve plant and equipment
Maximise running hours by analysing equipment efficiencies on a continuous basis
Assess areas of maintenance where traditionally outsourced maintenance could be performed in-house
Conduct plant over-inspections in order to identify potential improvement projects
Participate in breakdown investigations, diagnose problems and devise solutions to prevent recurrence
Ensure that all required critical spares and stock levels are reported to stores and monitor spare parts availability
Ensure that engineering maintenance answers to the need of the asset management system
Qualification Requirements
Diploma Engineering mechanical / electrical engineering or similar
Degree or certificate in project management will be an added advantage
Valid driver’s license code B, EB or C1
Experience and Skills Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience as Engineering Supervisor
English Language Proficiency
Time management skills
Internal Employee Relations training (advantageous)
Supervisory management training
Finance for non-financial managers training (advantageous)
Computer literate in MS Office
Relevant planned maintenance system training (advantageous)
