EPWP MOP UP/ REHAB CREWS (8 Posts)

CONTRACT EMPLOYMENT – (ONE YEAR)
Duties:
The mop up crew/rehab member’s functions are to supplement the fire operational manpower during the summer season in so far that the Fire Department can obtain its aims and objectives during a normal high summer fire risk period; TO assist with the clearing of fire breaks; To be responsible for the mop-up after vegetation, veld and bush fires; To carry out various general Fire Station duties and maintenance. Require to work at any fire station within the area of jurisdiction, as determined by the Chief Fire Officer. Must be able to be placed on stand — by on days with a very high Fire Danger Index.
Requirements:
Must be currently employed
• Grade 12
• Must be between the ages of 18 — 35 years’ Old
• Must be a South African Citizen (Proof of ID required)
• Fluent in at least 2 of the 3 regional languages
• Candidates will be subjected to a fitness test (Medical & Physical)
(Fitness Test: 2.4km running; Push ups in 1 minute; Sit-ups in 1 minute; Bench Press (30kg) and Carry 2 x 20kg for 100m)
Note: Candidates will be subject to a panel interview.

Salary R130.OO per day
